Data sources of company profiles

What data we display

Pre-filled company profiles contain the business name, industry, address, geographic location and, if present in the source, phone number, website, opening hours and a short description.

This is information the business itself has made public or that is publicly accessible. Reviews, photos or other content are never created automatically.

Where the data comes from

The source of the base data is OpenStreetMap, an open geographic database maintained by a worldwide community. The data is licensed under the Open Database License (ODbL).

We do not take data from protected commercial directories. When a profile is claimed, official documents provided by the business itself, such as a GISA extract, may additionally be used.

Purpose and legal basis

We show these profiles so people can find local businesses in their region and businesses can start on Lokali with a complete profile without effort.

The legal basis is our legitimate interest in operating a regional company directory (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Where information relates to a person, for example sole proprietorships, this page serves as information pursuant to Art. 14 GDPR.

Your rights as a business

You can claim your profile free of charge at any time and correct or complete the data.

You can request deletion of your entry without registration. We process deletion requests without undue delay, at the latest within one month, and ensure the entry does not reappear in future data updates.

You also have the right to access, rectification and complaint to the data protection authority (dsb.gv.at).
